Dubai Safari Park is a great place to relax with children. Even in the heat, it can be comfortable thanks to the large number of shaded paths and air conditioning, as well as cafes with reasonable prices for Dubai.
The main advantage is that it is a cage-free zoo.
You can see and photograph the animals without a fence. However, to see wild animals, the zoo offers safari tours on comfortable buses that take you closer. The tours last 40 minutes and include a lecture about the animals.
The hippopotamus is very vividly presented. It can be accessed through glass in a separate enclosure.
The zoo offers a feeding service for two animals: giraffes and lemurs at specific times. There is a queue to feed the giraffes. But feeding them is realistic and inexpensive. The food costs only 10 dirhams. A printout from a zoo employee in an album costs 100 dirhams. A nice souvenir to remember your visit!
There are also elephants, baboons, hyenas, chimpanzees, gorillas, beautiful flamingos, various antelopes… In short, there is plenty to see.
But the area is very large and it seems that there are not many animals, but this is not the case. There are few people, perhaps because of the heat. This makes it comfortable to watch the animals. I recommend visiting this place 🙂
The easiest way to get there is by city taxi. From the centre, the journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around 100 dirhams. It is also easy to get a taxi back, as they are waiting at the exit.
