How to Navigate Dubai Safari Park Without Missing a Thing

We went there to feed the giraffes, but missed this wonderful event. You can feed other animals, but everything is on a schedule, which they cannot tell you when you buy tickets, which is a shame. Therefore, I recommend bringing a translator or free internet access for the whole day. Without it, you risk missing out on a lot of interesting things. Alternatively, learn English, as many of the park employees speak it quite well.

The park is huge, and you can get around almost everywhere on mini-cars or trains. You will also have to walk a lot. For children, you can rent strollers and there is a separate ‘children’s zoo’ area where you can feed small herbivorous animals and parrots. Throughout the park, there are areas with fountains and shade to cool off and relax.

The place is certainly delightful. The animal enclosures are very large, where they can romp around to their heart’s content. Of course, it’s not the wide open spaces of the steppe, but the enclosures are not small like in ordinary zoos. I saw a live giraffe for the first time in my life, and it was literally a few metres away from me. The hyenas make your heart beat faster; just the sight of them instils fear, even if you are separated by the glass windows of a train.

You should definitely set aside a day and some money to visit this park if you are flying to the UAE.

I liked that animals that do not compete with each other can live together in the same enclosure.
